Turkey Spiced with Fruit
Ingredients:
One 12-15-pound turkey
1 apple, sliced
4 cups orange juice
1 cup apple juice
2 oranges, quartered
2 limes, quartered
Cheese cloth
Directions:
Clean out the turkey. Put the turkey in a pan. Place all of the sliced fruit inside of the turkey cavity. Mix the orange and apple juice together in a bowl and soak the cheese cloth in the mixture. Drape the soaked cheese cloth over the turkey covering everything. Pour the mixed juice into the cavity containing the fruit until it’s as full as possible then pour the rest of the juice over the top of the turkey. Bake according to directions, basting every 30 minutes with the juice in the pan.
